It has been reported that some patients have been misdiagnosed with Acute Biliary Obstruction, when in fact the correct diagnosis in their specific case was Hepatitis A.
There is no specific treatment for hepatitis A. Treatment is mainly on alleviating the symptoms. Hepatitis A is a self-resolving disease in which the body will fight and clear the virus without the need of further intervention. The diagnosis is done via a blood test. Currently, a vaccine is available and is especially indicated when the person is set to travel to an endemic area.
