Thrush In Men is sometimes misdiagnosed as Genital Warts

It has been reported that some patients have been misdiagnosed with Genital Warts, when in fact the correct diagnosis in their specific case was Thrush In Men.

Thrush or a yeast infection is a fungal infection caused by candida albicans. It causes symptoms such as itching and irritation around the head of the penis and under the foreskin, burning sensation while urinating, thick white odor free discharge with cottage cheese appearance or watery discharge, difficulty pulling back foreskin and an unpleasant smell. It can also appear in areas such as the skin of the armpits, groin and between the fingers. It is not a sexually transmitted infection but its symptoms can be easily mistaken for an STI such as herpes, or trichomoniasis, an allergic reaction or small cuts from shaving.

Always consult your doctor or health professional, and do not self diagnose.

Symptoms can include:

Redness around urethra and foreskin, white discharge, irritation around urethra and foreskin, burning around urethra and foreskin, unpleasant smell, difficulty pulling back the foreskin

Symptoms are a guideline only and may apply to either the diagnosis or the reported misdiagnosis, or both. Consult your specialist for further information.
