Swollen Glands is sometimes misdiagnosed as Lymphomas

It has been reported that some patients have been misdiagnosed with Lymphomas, when in fact the correct diagnosis in their specific case was Swollen Glands.

Swollen glands caused by viruses resolve on their own and return to normal size once the viral infection subsides. Swollen glands caused by bacterial infections require antibiotics. If the swollen glands are caused by HIV, immune disorders or cancer, the underlying condition needs t be resolved or managed so that the gland size returns to normal. Swollen glands are diagnosed by a doctor who can feel the glands, check their size and tenderness, Blood tests and a review of medical history may be necessary to check the cause of the swollen glands.
